I cannot recall another administration in Guyana that has delivered Guyana out of the hole, others of less repute and mettle, had put Guyana in, to shame. However, there are still those around whom nothing in the line of progress delivered will see as pleasing.These will be those individuals who have not yet learned to think, and who are yet to discover themselves.

Your optimism is encouraging, Guyflag, but there are blatant things going on in our country that we can no longer overlook. And the man we placed in charge MUST take responsibility. Guyana deserves no less.

the PPP introduced mendicancy into the political culture of Guyana, my friend! it is known as the begging bowl government within the international donor community. but this is not surprising.to those of us old enough to remember growing up on the ECD, we can recall groups of mendicants coming every week to homes in the village with their begging bowls and bags…it is just a cultural thing…some ah we kyaan help we self! and we will take it to the highest level.

I do not support a call for a third term. I believe a presidential term should be limited to two terms.Point of note for you guyanese wannabee uS citizens.Grover Cleveland was the only US president who lost an election after serving one term,and was reelected again four years later. This president can do that.

The government delivers every time.Express.Special.Whatever. It was the other illegal government, given a free ride by massa, that made it’s policy one of non delivery.Oddly enough, there are no shortage of blind mice backers for the previous non delivery government even today.

Taking Leon’s letter in the context of Hackett, as being “satirical and tongue-in-cheek”, makes much more sense. But proposing a third term for any of Guyana’s previous, existing or aspiring leaders since independence, is unthinkable.
We should really start a movement to re-colonize Guyana. If not, we will lose our whole coastland, our capital city, and all our little development, to incompetence

Maybe Stabroek News or some independent body should do a survey to determine the Government or the President’s approval level to get a sense of how the people really feel about the way in which they run our cake shop, because to them that’s what it really is.

You do know that security, safety, decent income and things like affordable water and electricity are all considered in the standard of living index, right?

I find it laughable that you commend the building of fancy buildings and infrastructure when you admit in the very same sentence that people cannot afford them. That is the true test for your standard of living views.

Congrats to President and many of his hardworking ministers, but particularly President, who has shown .. great strength ; energy ; fearlessness; ability; Intelligence;.. A really Bright young man,.. and all of this in the face of virulent opposition, over many years.. He has indeed delivered ;.. both locally and Internationaly ;
however, i must disagree with the Call” for a third term, No individual must be made to feel indispensible, especially political leaders ..This common mistake. .leads to a culture of Mendicancy, or dependence, and reduces the confidence and selfworth of the country’s citizenry. When Mr. Jagdeo goes, we must be able to find another. A resourceful ex preident can continue to serve his country in many positive ways…

The president has delivered around HUNDREDS OF SLAUGHTERED, MAIMED AND SCARRED FOR LIFE GUYANESE, MANY OF WHICH ARE HIS OWN SUPPORTERS. And the fact that there is no sign this is about to change anytime soon – definitely not since we do NOTHING about drug trafficking and administrative responsibility.

I will praise the President and his admin when they start to show RESPECT for Guyana – ALL Guyana.

It appears that, this Suseran dude is a very self centered individual, once his problems are solved then everything is fine and to hell with everybody else’s problems. Mind you, before any year end bonus for Public Servants was announced, I recall that, this same flip-flop Suseran was complaining in the letter section of the newspapers about the announced bonus for the joint services only. Then all of a sudden, a little green trickle down from the Gov’t and everything is terrific again, how convenient bannas??

Balgobin Hackett was right about you and this divide and conquer mentality all along. Besides everybody knows that, Berbice is much more than just the ancient county, yea! I remember finding forty pieces of silver there once Mr Moderator.

I hope the parliamentary opposition parties are paying close attention, because it appears that, Berbice will succumb to the color green.

History will prove the PPP a failure solely on the basis of not holding local elections in umteen years. U can not fight for free and fail elections and turn around and do the same as the PNC. There can be no excuse for not holding elections when u have a majority.
