The gravity drainage canal has been blocked and the sluice is non-functional, and 2 electrical pumps installed in a canal west of the blocked one. Why? Still scratching my head... And it is indeed "heartening that the senior staff compound has flooded"! It would speed up corrective measures. Last year June I visited the Chesney installation described by the writer above and can confirm what he is saying.
