Dear Editor,
I see so many letters in the press on the Low Carbon Development Strategy, some supportive and some condemnatory of the President’s persistency on the initiative.
Personally, I believe that the initiative is based on sound values and judgment. Therefore, I solidly support the President’s overtures. As a result he has to travel, but let us not forget that he does have competent Administrators and Ministers to run the affairs of the Government and people. The travel in my opinion is necessary as he highlights to the world that Guyana is capable of providing the service to save the world, which at the same time could be profitable to Guyana and its people. If after he does his best, nothing is forthcoming, then Guyana has all rights to pursue it economic development based on industrialization. Let us note that industrial development has not been put on hold.
In addition he is putting Guyana on the map, meeting national leaders, leaders in academia, furthering his arguments at the highest levels on the international scene. I believe that it will bear fruits.
As a result of his work in this arena, I see him in time being appointed to a major world body, specifically to do with LCDS matters and climate change.
The trips therefore are investments in development. And I am no spin doctor for any politician. I always speak from my heart.
Yours faithfully,
Roshan Khan

true, saving the forest is indeed a good thing. but the mistrust is that if their wasn’t money on it for Guyana there would’ve been no Genuine interest! An investment, Yes, into his (the president) future (career wise).
Roshan, you seem to work quite hard to mask your apologetic PPP sentiments. And you do not appear to speak from your heart either. Your flatulence on Jagdeo’s trip to “save” the world is full of carbon. Old people always say ” Yuh own fart gon wake yuh.”
Sometimes I get the impression Roshan is the de facto security advisor to the government.
Mr.Khan,i am surprised at you,i remember your article in support of Henry Green to be confirmed as commissioner of police and now you are defending jagdeo’s begging bowl strategy, you were complaining about government’s attitude towards the noise nuisance in Guyana and that not much help coming from the police,it looks likes you are now sleeping pretty well within the close proximity of the Starlight Drive in Cinema. Please pray that there be no more “Rum till i die concert” to disturb your sleep.
Anyone defending Jagdoe’s trips to north america every week is himself probably been deafened and dumbed down by the noise emmanating from starlight drive in.
These world organisations employ people with “clean” hands and stay away from dictators. Over the last 10 years and more there has been a lot of bloodshed in Guyana. Most of Jago’s trip overseas he did not leave the begging bowl/cup in Guyana.
“The travel in my opinion is necessary as he(the president) highlights to the world that Guyana is capable of providing the service to save the world, which at the same time could be profitable to Guyana and its people”- Roshan Khan
Are there lots of crazy people running around in Guyana or is this a Halloween moment? What world can Guyana save, especially since it appears that the country can’t even save itself? I hope Mr. Khan was not dressed in his Jagdeo super-hero Halloween costume when he penned this letter. I also like his caveat “And I am no spin doctor for any politician” as if to doubly convince us that he is for real.
Mr. Khan, we are not scared! You have earned your trick or treat candies now go take a seat!
The President’s frequent trips overseas confirm that there is no need for his office, so let us stop wasting hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ dollars on it.
If the Western Powers thought our rainforest was so important in saving the world they would have been the ones running behind us to protect it.
Jambo Ndugu Touchau, and BRAVO my friend BRAVO!!.. If Guyana has so much power and value to save the planet like Roshan Khan and Mr President thinks, then everybody would be brucking down the doors to get a piece of Guyana’s enduring prosperity and good fortune. Precisely chief Touchau, maybe Roshan needs to visit Wai-Wai country…
Roshan the fact is that, even Guyanese like yourself, who, supposedly should know better, are running every day from the mud, the rain and flood waters on account of financing Jagdeo and his global ‘trick or treat’. There is no candy in his bag when he comes back home its empty but the taxpayers still have to pay the bills.
Roshan, you’re being PUNKED royally with superlatives about pristine rainforest, saving the world and doing good, but remember charity begins at home. Fix the block-out again syndrome, the brownish tap water, the crime and punishment problem, the public lawlessness and the acting appointments at the judiciary first before trying to save the world.
Give me a break roshan khan, are you telling me little guyana can save the world with it’s forest, while other countries are destroying their to make room for their people and development, wake up and smell the roses man, this lcd thing is one hoax, what gone bad aready done bad, no one can stop the time from what is gonna happen.
“And I am no spin doctor for any politician.” REEL AND COME AGAIN!
Just when I thought that there was an end to the onslaught of foolishness coming from these PPP soup drinkers, here comes Khan with the mother of all silliness. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. It’s early, but I think I need a drink.
Roshan Khan, Jagdeo is wasting taxpayers’ money. He is wasting lots of it too. No ifs or buts and fancy denial will obscure the facts. Some have to sing for their supper but they are many who don’t have to and can freely criticise. Many want a better and fair Guyana.
