The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport presented fifty chess sets recently to ten secondary schools in its effort to have the game played among our youths. Minister of Sport, Dr Frank Anthony, has said that over time chess equipment would be widely distributed to all the ten regions of Guyana to ensure there is, literally, a national touch to the game. Some time soon, the Minister will be handing over another fifty sets to another ten secondary schools. In the photo above, Minister within the Ministry of Education Dr Desrey Fox makes a presentation on behalf of the Ministry of Sport, as Dr Anthony and Director of Sport Neil Kumar look on.
