The Muslim community in Guyana through the National Islamic Awards Committee has awarded Rayman Alli for outstanding work and service to the development of Islam in Guyana. In a press release the committee said Alli served as president of the Anjuman Hifazatul Islam from 1974 to 1984 and was a former secretary of the West Demerara Muslim Youth Organisation. Alli migrated to Canada in 1984 where he established a community there that serves Islam and supports local Muslims.
