Twin calves: Cattle farmer, Fazil Abrahim, 44, of Bush Lot New Housing Scheme, West Berbice was very excited yesterday when his one of his cows gave birth to twin calves. He said he went to assist the cow as she was delivering, not realizing that it was a double birth. He was trying to put the calf to suckle when the mother sat down again suddenly. To his surprise the second calf was born. Abrahim said he subsequently bought red ribbons to decorate their necks. The farmer said he bought the mother 12 months ago and this is the second time she has given birth. The cow is a special breed that was produced through artificial insemination.
