A two-year-old boy died after falling on a ‘cuirass’ fish and one of its bones pierced his brain on Monday.
Dead is Faraad Mohamed of Meten-meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara. According to reports, the child was on a bicycle along with his mother, who had just purchased the fish and they were returning home at about 11:30 am on Monday, when they fell. Mohamed fell on a fish and one of its bones pierced his head. His mother pulled the bone out before rushing him to the Leonora Diagnostic Centre.
He was later transferred to the West Demerara Regional Hospital and then to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he died.
A post-mortem examination yesterday found that he had died of brain haemorrhaging due to the wound.
He was buried according to Muslim rites late yesterday.

Obviously with the the name Faraad Mohamed, the child was most likely born to Muslim parents.
If you were unsure, then it would have been more appropriate to say something more universal like “God” or just offer condolences. Is it too much for you to be civil and respect other people’s religion/faith?
Blue_Moon I think your remarks are disrespectful to Muslims. Didn’t you read that Faraad was buried according to Muslim rites. Don’t you know that Muslims do not
worship Jesus for they believe he is a creation of God, so they worship the One who created him. If you believe that you will be sleeping in the arms of Jesus when your time comes then your belief has to be respected. It does not matter what anyone thinks about Faraad he has achieved the supreme objective. We
adults have many things to account for.

What a sad situation. I keep thinking how this poor little boy must have cried for comfort, and his poor mom must have tried to comfort him, wishing she could take away his pain. Very sad. Condolence to his family.
