A 19-year-old waitress of Hong Chinese Restaurant at Canefield, East Canje was stabbed on Monday evening and her attacker who was also chopped is in custody at the Reliance Police Station.
The woman, Carina Hollins of 75 East Canefield is said to be in a critical condition at the New Amsterdam Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery today. Reports are that the knife that was used to stab her almost punctured her liver.
Enraged observers dealt the attacker, six chops with a cutlass on his neck, feet and hands. He was treated at the hospital and then handed over to the police.
Reports are that the attacker, who was a customer at the restaurant at the time, was making offensive remarks to another waitress because she refused to go out with him. He then became physically abusive to the woman; boxing her and hitting her with a beer bottle.
This prompted Hollins to intervene and the man also started to “pull and tug at her” and she in turn hit him with a beer bottle. Sources said he was angered by this and he drew a knife and dealt her the stab.
The woman started to bleed profusely and other persons who witnessed the stabbing pursued him and started to chop him. Two men have also been taken into custody for the chopping incident.

No sympathy for this attacker. I think his assailants should be rewarded for coming to the aid of the stabbed woman.
Please dont charge the guys that helped her.
That’s all that was there to be used to help keep this attacker from the woman..He got what he deserve. They did’nt take the law in their own hands, they acted spontaniously.
He should be lucky he did’nt get killed.
Give him 20 years in jail if guilty.
These men need to get their head checked, if the woman don’t want to go out with you leave her alone, maybe you are not her type, why harm her because she refused your approach, now the men who came to her defense are in custody just because they defended the woman, now you all know i’m against vigalante justice, the police have a right to arrest all of them including the attacker, if they need to help they could’ve hold him until the police come.

The attacker was treated and sent away which means a dull cutalss was used on him, unfortunately. The waitress is hospitalised and only God knows what would happen to her. Too bad they did not have to pick up his arm and leg and bundled the rest of him in a vehicle to take to the hospital. If you play you stupid, you are going to get stupid treatment.
The threat of vigilante justice can curb a lot of foolishness. The poorlice always turn up late, if at all.

Treated and sent away might mean that he only got broad sided with a dull cutlass and those guys probably showed restraint or else he might have been dead by now.

Again we read of the man “persuing” the attacker, which meant that he was no longer a threat.Secondly Attackers , more that one dealt six chops about the body. This suggest excessive force.
It would have been a different matter if these men had intervene while he was about to or on the process of attacking the woman,and dealt him a single effective blow. Then I would have said,Well done,Thou good an faithful servant.

This type of violent behaviour is not good for Guyana but I hope that the waitress who was stabbed get well , soon . She did what any right-thinking person would have done . Anger management needs to be taught in the schools and the homes .
