Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) officials yesterday discovered approximately two kilos of cocaine in a package addressed to a Brooklyn, New York address.
Stabroek News understands that the package, which was one of two randomly pulled in by anti-drug officials, was discovered early last evening at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri. The package was bound for a Caribbean Airlines flight headed to the John. F. Kennedy airport.
An East Coast Demerara address, sources told this newspaper, was listed under the sender’s name on the package. The cocaine was discovered concealed in several packs of massala, Chinese spice and black pepper.
Up to late last evening the exact amount of the illegal substance was still unknown and anti-drug officials were yet to check the East Coast address. Investigations are ongoing.
This is the second package that has been intercepted by CANU at the airport in just over two weeks. On June 25, a package containing over two kilos of cocaine and destined for Toronto, Canada was intercepted. The name of a woman was listed as the sender but a visit to the Kitty address which was inscribed on the package revealed no-one by that name living there.
And here we go again with the mysterious packages. Sure sign of desperation to be rid of the cocaine!!!!

With digital photography so cheap why not take pictures of those mailing these packages? Is there a canine drug detection squad in Guyana? Just the thought that their pictures are on file would increase the feelings of fear of prosecution if caught.

there is a few other ways of knowing who mailed the “yeayo” but ,, i doubt ,, even if they have any such means ,, that they r familiar with the use !…
Exactly why isn’t CCTV cameras installed in the post office and all offices that allow for shipment of packages and materials to foreign destinations.
A move like that can jeopardize the economy Borapork.
Better yet……swap out most of the cocaine and inform the US Feds so they can track it.

The who drop off the package had to register his/her address using his/her ID. This could of been a package loaded with explosive.

this appears to be a norm.That apparently goes like this.Advertisement.Transshipment point. Location Guyana. Go there and do either of three things. Receive from a phantom supplier packages.Post package.Swallow pellets. Try to board plane with package in luggage.
