Woman on date was strangled

(Trinidad Express) – Gail Joseph was strangled with the bare hands of her killer.
A man employed as a cargo handler on a vessel transporting cargo between Trinidad and Tobago is the suspect in the death of the law clerk.

Joseph was apparently killed last Sunday, on a first date with a man she met on the internet relationship site Tagged.com.

An autopsy performed yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, found that the mother of four died by manual strangulation.

The 37-year-old suspect was taken into police custody and was being interrogated up to late evening.

Joseph, 41, went missing three days before her body was dragged out of a swamp near the Nariva River mouth in Manzanilla. Her corpse was found not far from the coconut plantation that Gail Durity’s body was found a year ago. Durity’s throat, face and head had been cut open, police said.
