Three more cases of swine flu confirmed

(Jamaica Observer) – Three more cases of Influenza A (H1N1) ‘swine flu’ have been detected by the Ministry of Health, and as with all previous cases, were linked with travel to New York in the United States.

All three persons are well, added the ministry in its statement yesterday afternoon. Jamaica has now recorded a total of 10 infections with no deaths.

The ministry has also examined and taken samples for laboratory testing from immediate contacts.

Persons should contact their doctor, nearest health centre or hospital if they have flu-like symptoms, take the medication recommended by their health care provider and remain at home.
