There should be speed bumps in the villages

Dear Editor,
Even as new traffic laws are being implemented, some motorists are still driving in a reckless manner on the streets of villages. Some villages like Zeelugt have main roads running through the village which are used by pedestrian residents, especially children, as well as motorists. Some of the drivers will see children and people on the road and continue to drive at a dangerous speed through the village, especially on a street call Brother dam. I am asking the relevant authorities to please help the residents before something happens and put speed humps on the streets, because the police are only found on the public roads while laws are being broken daily by motorists in the villages, some of whom are unlicensed and under-age drivers.
Yours faithfully,
Sahadeo Bates
