There should be handrails on the steps at the stellings

Dear Editor,

I travelled a few times by speedboat from Supenaam to Parika and then I crossed again from Vreed-en-Hoop to Georgetown. At my age − I am now 73 − what I find distressing is that at none of these locations, are there handrails on the steps for passengers to hold on to. Recently I travelled when it was raining, and the steps were slippery and muddy. There was a girl with a baby, who had her bag slung around her shoulder, and she was forced to take off her shoes to walk up the steps. These people do not care anything about the safety of passengers; all they want is the money. Please put handrails on the steps.

Yours faithfully,
Joe Ramoop
