Dear Editor,

The President, Executive and members of the Guyana Small Business Association extend their deepest sympathy to relatives, friends and comrades of the former President, Mrs Janet Jagan, OE.

Mrs Janet Jagan, would be remembered for her sterling contribution towards the struggle for the working class and, indeed, the independence of Guyana from the colonial masters.

She had that unique capacity to function with distinction in the roles of freedom fighter, fighter for women’s rights, politician and journalist while at the same time be a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

The late President Mrs Janet Jagan’s name would be indelibly recorded in the annals of Guyana’s history as the first female Prime Minister and President.

May her soul rest in peace.

Yours faithfully,
Patrick ZephyrPresident,
Guyana Small Business Association
