Dear Editor,

As a senior citizen of this country, I express my heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the children and other relatives of our late President, Mrs Janet Jagan OE, and First Lady of the Republic of Guyana.

Regardless of her shortcomings, she made a valuable contribution to this nation and she must be given credit. This contribution is unchallenged by any other female at present and such that her name will be added to the history of Guyana. She was a women of great courage who stood up for whatever she saw benefited our people, and served a six-months prison term which was unjust.

May her soul rest in peace.
