Dear Editor,

I attended a performance at the National Cultural Centre on Saturday May 22, 2009 at 20:00hrs and was seated in the balcony (seat G114).

My experience there as a patron was the most uncomfortable ever; the air conditioning unit was non-functional or was unable to deal with the heat created by a filled balcony. The temperature in the balcony was in excess of 32 degrees Celsius at times.

Many patrons were engaged in redesigning their hairstyles while others opted to put on a striptease show. It was evident from everyone fanning and panting, that they were uncomfortable and not enjoying the show.

The NCC should look at this matter with urgency, and if they are incapable of dealing with it, they should not rent the building for performances.

Yours faithfully,
Faudia Baksh
