The PNCR must unite

Dear Editor,
As the Biennial Congress of the People’s National Congress Reform draws near, there is a need for reconciliation in the party. The time has come for the membership of the PNCR to get their act together and embrace unity, for it is only in unity that the party would gain its strength to challenge the PPP/C at the upcoming elections. The party must ensure that groups throughout Guyana are strong, and there must be constant contact with the leadership of the party. It is my opinion that the PNCR needs all the experience it has available to it to make a breakthrough again. The party founded by Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham needs the experience of Messrs Robert Corbin, Vincent Alexander, James McAllister, Winston Murray, Dr Van West Charles, Mr Aubrey Armstrong, Mr Stanley Ming, Mr Donald Ainsworth, the present Central Executive Committee and all those who would have taken a break from the party for various reasons. It is my sincere hope that all party members and stalwarts would find it in their hearts to reconcile, I wish to urge old stalwarts such as Mr Cammie Ramsaroop and Mr Ranji Chandisingh – not forgetting Mr Hamilton Green – to offer their words of encouragement and advice so as to bring about reconciliation in the PNCR.

I firmly believe that if all the factions in the PNCR can unite, it could be the strongest political party in Guyana. Time is not on the PNCR’s side. It cannot afford to waste precious time; the time for reconcillation is now.
The party battle song is ringing in my ears, and I do suspect that the People’s National Congress Reform will soon be on the rise and will take its place to lead the people of Guyana.
Yours faithfully,
Clive Fredericks
