I would like to suggest that NCN Channel 11 accept only 30-second commercials to be played during the cricket commentary. If that is not done, cricket fans will continue to complain about the intrusion of these commercials during the cricket commentary.

This problem exists in some Caribbean countries, but in Barbados, the commercials for both radio and television are 30 seconds; the longer commercials are played during the water break or after the end of the first two hours of play.

The Barbadian announcers are quick to remind the public that after God, comes cricket, so half an hour before the commencement of cricket, the commercials for various segments would be played for 15 minutes, and for the next 15 minutes, the station would join the commentators so that cricket fans could hear their views and comments about the match to be played.

In Guyana, most sponsored programmes for both TV and radio are broadcast before the commencement of the cricket commentary, so there is no provision to listen to the comments of the cricket commentators before the broadcast of the commentary.

Sometimes, we need to do things a little differently and to recognize the frustration listeners and viewers endure when the commercials are very long and are played before the over is completed.
