Dear Editor,

Please allow me to express congratulations to Ms Volda Lawrence, the newly elected chairperson of the Georgetown District of the PNCR, and the entire team of officers on their election to the executive body of the Georgetown District. I served with Ms Lawrence at the executive level of the Georgetown District and found her to be very professional and aggressive in her efforts to promote the party’s work and serve the district members.

I wish the new body every success in their endeavours, and urge them to remember that they are the true servants of the people and not the other way around. At this time the focus of the district should be to ensure that Georgetown is adequately prepared for the local government elections, due to be held shortly. Georgetown needs the kind of political leadership that should remind us of the kind of leadership that a true capital city deserves.
