The local Ms Universe contestant represents Guyana, not just herself

Dear Editor,
Sara Bharrat’s interview with the current beauty ambassador in SN of July 11, definitely highlights the fact that Miss Guyana Universe needs some last minute adjustments, and should get help from an educator in communications. If she chooses to repeat the statement when in the Bahamas that she is there to win the coveted crown for herself, it will be interpreted to mean that she is a one-person representative rather than being there for Guyana. No one will take her seriously.

This comment is not meant to discredit the person in question, but she has to be open to constructive criticism and if adjustments are made, the end product will be a more effective and a well-spoken ambassador.

If Guyana’s eco-tourism is the marketing product that will be the platform, she should educate herself on Iwokrama as an additional product which will be a boost for her package. Good luck.
Yours faithfully,
T. Pemberton
