Allegation about ACDA burning down the Ministry of Health is a ‘nancy’ story

It is laughable to now hear that the burning down of the Ministry of Health is being blamed on ACDA. This incredible stretch of the imagination is surpassed only by the eye-pass of the accusers for the people of Guyana. Here is their ‘nancy’ story that even PPP supporters laugh at.

An ACDA member, who is obviously an Olympic record holder, throws a channa bomb 150 yards onto the top floor of the Ministry of Health and given where it must have landed, hurled this weapon in front of a guard sitting ten yards away in the main guardhouse. This channa bomb then created an inferno that burnt down the building. To prove their point, the government produces five very clean channa bombs, that they say were found in the compound. These bottles that were in an inferno were unscorched, unbroken and unexploded. Yet for 500 yards around the fire, everything else, except these spotless low carbon credit bottles were covered in charcoal, smoke, soot and mud. [Ed note: The channa bombs were found in a building which was saved, to the east of the main building.]

To prove their point even further, another of these bottles was found at another ministry. Perhaps, this bottle high-jumped from the Ministry of Health to this far destination, or a bacoo took it there. This outrageous fairy tale is so funny that no one, including members of the PPP, believes this. Domestic terrorism at its best.

Why did ACDA do this? Well, millions of dollars are unaccounted for at the Ministry of Health according to the Auditor General, and ACDA must have been hired to burn down this building to cover this up. ACDA is now in bed with the government and the government gave them $2 million for Emancipation.

Meanwhile, President Jagdeo of the Low C (LCDS) fame, is seeking overseas forensic help similar to that sought for Lindo Creek to find this High C(hanna) bomber. He is also putting up half of Fineman’s reward ($25 million) for information leading to the capture of this “domestic terrorist.”

Even natural born idiots do not buy the propaganda that ACDA burnt down the Ministry of Health.

Finally, some people are having private parties because they think ACDA has received money from the President for the Emancipation Festival and it is causing havoc in the organization.

Sorry to disappoint you.

ACDA has strong, determined, committed leadership that cannot be compromised. Our 15-year-old position on shared governance is unequalled. We believe shared governance is a fundamental human right of all Guyanese. As our press release has pointed out: “ACDA remains undeterred in its efforts to seek justice, speak out against the angst that our people face each day; equality in the distribution of the Nation’s resources; and most importantly we remain firmly rooted in our belief that only through a shared governance political system will the needs and concerns of all the races of Guyana be addressed equitably.”

Yes, there are different positions in ACDA on some issues. Many in ACDA feel it is an insult to take $2.5 million from the government for the Emancipation Festival when last year Amerindians received $30 million for Carifesta and Amerindian Heritage Month. Others believe it is taxpayers’ money and that it is an obligation of the government which can give football teams millions of dollars.

Others point out there were five groups involved in Indian Arrival Day and each of them received millions to hold events in Georgetown (National Park, Cultural Centre, Providence Stadium), Anna Regina, Albion, etc.

To the racial entrepreneurs who want to see a divided ACDA, dream on. Having compromised both political parties, the trade union movement (FITUG), the movement for equality and the Christian church, the strategy is now to try to compromise ACDA.

Yours faithfully,
Eric Phillips
