Since a police barricade has been erected at the corner of Camp and Bent Streets, just outside the Georgetown prison, the movement of traffic south along Camp Street has now been diverted eastwards into Bent Street behind the prison. Consequently motorists travel at high speed, especially when they are turning the corner to enter this section of Bent Street.

Travelling at breakneck speed can well be dangerous to other road users. This reckless use of the road is easily observed during the day in Bent Street between Camp and John Streets, Werk-en-Rust. Unhesitatingly, I suggest that the Traffic Depart-ment take a look at the situation, and build two ramps or place sleeping policemen across this section of the road. This would undoubtedly help to slow down the traffic in the interest and safety of all road users, and I look forward to seeing this hazard removed as soon as possible.
