Will the driver be charged in the Rudradeo case?

Dear Editor,
On August 29 young Vivekanand Rudradeo was knocked down on the East Coast Public road by a car driven by a hit and run driver who did not stop to render any assistance.

Young Vivekanand was admitted to the ICU and when someone is taken there it is often because his or her life hangs in the balance, yet when the police did find the driver of the said car he was placed on station bail and was of course free to drive.

Well Vivekanand hovered between life and death for two weeks, then he died and his body was cremated on September 10.

As I understand it the vehicle driver has not been detained by the police, so will the Vivekanand case go like so many other road deaths, where the victims are buried, the drivers continue merrily on the road, and the police allow the matter to fade into oblivion?

Yours faithfully,
W P George
