Tough assignment facing Press Association

Dear Editor,
With the recent election of the new members of the Press Association, my expectation is that they must challenge themselves in being the voices of the nation from as many ends or corners of the country and in doing so they have to build stamina with the adventure that awaits them.

Guyana’s 2011 general elections will be one of their toughest assignments so, prepare your mindsets for that period well in advance.

I have had many hilarious moments in the past with campaigners performing on stage and some could have almost touch the sky. One that comes to mind and no disrespect to Dr. Henry Jeffrey, but this is one campaigner who had me saying, go Henry, go.

I wasn’t too pleased to learn about the absence of the state media’s representative, but should that chair still be available, I hope that the agency would reconsider its position and make contact with the Press Association.

The other laugh I had was with the dress code of the recent members of the Press Association in its KN front page photo dated 10.5.2009.

The thought that came to mind was that, “like tings really bad wid al-ya.” Al ya really look cheap.

Yours faithfully,
T. Pemberton
