Farfan and Mendes extends RHTYSC sponsorship

A relationship that started 13 years ago continues to be strong and one party has pledged to keep the relationship going.

Last week, the Farfan and Mendes Company presented a cheque of $150,000 to the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC).

The money will be used to continue the sponsorship of the U-15 team.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, secretary of RHTY&SC, Hilbert Foster, said he was appreciative of the continued sponsorship.

“When a structure is being built the foundation must be solid,” Foster said, referring to the U-15 team.

According to Foster players like Esaun and Royston Crandon, Assad and Abdel Fudadin, Delbert Hicks and others have all come through the U-15 ranks of the club.

Foster said that the qualities instilled by the club into the young cricketers included discipline, dedication, having faith in themselves and a strong belief in God.

Foster disclosed that the company has in the 12 years pumped more than $2M into the programme.

The result for this commitment, he said, was because the club was considered by many as one of the better youth clubs in the country.

Marketing Officer of Farfan and Mendes Ltd., Delyon Josiah was full of praise for the U-15 team which he said played some 39 matches in 2008 and secured 37 wins.

Josiah said such performances will see the company continuing its sponsorship in the future.
Farfan and Mendes chairperson Mrs. June Mendes is the patron of the RHTY&SC.

And, Foster disclosed  that the U-15 team this year will be led by Shawn Perriera with Neil Pike as his vice captain. Keith Hicks will serve as manager and Renwick Batson as coach.
