Haniff, Nagamootoo star in Sunday league second round

Former Guyana opener Azeemul Haniff scored 95 runs to guide CLICO Preysal to a 109-run win over Barataria Ball Players in the Carib Sunday League Round of 16 at the National Cricket Centre in Couva on Saturday.

Haniff found support in Shazan Babwah (44) and Yannik Cariah (41) as Preysal compiled 261 for seven in their 50 overs.
Yousuf Ramlogan was the pick of the Barataria bowlers with two for 55.

In reply, Barataria stumbled to 152 all out in 40.4 overs with Babwah, Cariah, Ryan Hurley and Magnun Nanan collecting two wickets apiece.

Ray Campell was the top scorer for the Ball Players with  58 while Yousuf Ramlogan chipped in with 49.
At Presentation, Chaguanas, it was Mahendra Nagamootoo at his best, as the former Test player took his team Central Sports to an upset win over Clarke Road.

Nagamootoo grabbed four wickets for two runs, to lead a Clarke Road rout for just 96 runs. Another Guyanese in Troy Cornelius then scored 19 runs as Central Sports replied with 97 for four.
