MHS and LTI to clash in basketball final today

The Mckenzie High School (MHS) and the Linden Technical Institute (LTI) will go head-to-head today at the Mckenzie Sports Club hardcourt in the final of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports-sponsored schools’ basketball tournament.
MHS has been the powerhouse in schools’ basketball over the past year with their star player Akeem Kanhai leading the way.
However, LTI, through the efforts of another junior national player Orin Rose has been staking a strong claim to be the best.
LTI will be looking to pull all the stops on Kanhai and his troops before the big throw down in this year’s Victory Valley Royals, annual inter-school tournament.
The tournament is considered the “Holy Grail” of schools’ basketball in Linden and MHS are the defending champions.
The third place game will see Linden Foundation Secondary School coming up against the  Wismar Secondary School (Multi).
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dr. Frank Anthony and other officials from the ministry are expected to witness the final. (RT)
