TRELAWNY, Jamaica, CMC – The Windward Islands ripped out Jamaica’s batting and carved out a dramatic come-from-behind three-wicket victory over the champions on the third day of their 12th round WICB Regional Four-day match yesterday.

Batsmen were tormented by the ball at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium as Jamaica plunged to a flimsy second innings score of 107 all out, and the Windwards, set 115 to win., scrambled to victory at 118 for seven.

The result avenged the Windwards’ massive innings loss to Jamaica in round seven at Dominica’s Windsor Park in February and pushed the eastern Caribbean side into provisional second place on 75 points.

The defeat left Jamaica with only four points from the match but still virtually assured of the George Headley/Everton Weekes Trophy with 94 points.
In the 13th and penultimate round starting Friday, the Windwards will be idle and Jamaica are at home to Guyana.
