It took defending champions Berbice just six minutes after lunch to defeat hosts Essequibo in their GTM three-day under-19 Inter county cricket match at the Anna Regina community centre ground yesterday.
Essequibo, who were resuming the final day’s play on 107-5, were rattled out for 121. This left the tournament’s defending champions needing only 48 runs for victory and they did so easily but lost two wickets in the process.
The tournament will continue tomorrow at the Police sports club ground Eve Leary with Essequibo facing Berbice.
