GCB short-lists 20-man squad

The junior selection panel of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has short-listed the 20-man squad which will go into training for the upcoming West Indies Cricket Board (WICB)/TCL regional Under-19 tournament scheduled for Jamaica in July.

Nine members from last year’s squad, including the in-form Jonathan Foo and the injured Jeetendra Sookdeo are included in the line-up, along with national Under-17 fast bowler Seon Daniels who was struck for 31 runs in the final over of the lone trial match.

Also included in the squad from which the final 14 will be selected are Essequibo’s fast bowler Rensford Beaton who could not make it to the trials due to exams, left arm swing bowler Andre Stoll and the lone centurion of the trial match, opener Herrell Greene.

The 20-man squad from which the final 14 will be selected reads: Trevon Griffith, Jeetendra Sookdeo, Royston Alkins, Dexter Solomon, Anthony Bramble, Seon Hetmyer, Alex Amsterdam, Totaram Bishun, Sahadeo Somai, Amir Khan, Anthony Adams, Rensford Beaton, Jonathan Foo, Keyron Fraser, Keon Joseph, Seon Daniels, Andre Stoll, Herrell Greene, Ryan Rajmangal and Rajendra Nickbarran.

Alvin Johnson and Hubern Evans have both been selected to perform the duties of manager and coach respectively.
