The Guyana Defence Force will clash with Caribs when second round action of Trophy Stall (Bourda Market) male 10-a-side competition commences this afternoon at the National Park Playfield.

The previous match between the two sides in the first round ended in a draw (19-19) for which each side gained two points.
The GDF, who defeated Hornets 12-10 last Wednesday to earn the full four points are in the lead along with Pepsi Hornets Rugby Club who thrashed Yamaha Caribs 56-7 last Saturday in the final match of the first round. The two sides are on six points each. At the end of the first half of the match between Hornets and Yamaha Caribs on Saturday, Hornets led 10-7.

Caribs failed to score in the second half as Hornets raced away scoring 46 more points.
The lone try for the Caribs was made by Walter George and converted by Theodore Henry while Hornets Robin Cordis, Ryan George, Lance Adonis and Hornets captain Albert La Rose accounted for 40 of the team’s total score.

They scored two tries each while Cordis, George and La Rose made successful conversions.
