Golden Jaguars leave today for Suriname

Guyana’s senior national team (Golden Jaguars) leaves today for Suriname, where they will compete in the biennial Parbo Bier Cup against the host, French Guiana and Antigua.

The team will be led by central defender Howard Lowe and is being coached by Paul James, while Gavin Browne and Billal Nantambu are the assistants.

Guyana’s last outing in the Dutch-speaking nation was in their first leg in the second round of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, where they went down two nil at the Andrea Kampervene stadium.

Their first game will be on Wednesday, June 3, against Antigua at 18:00 hours.

On Friday, June 5, the local boys are down to face longtime rivals Suriname at 20:00 hrs, and their final game of the tournament will be against French Guiana at 16:00 hours on Sunday, June 7 before returning home on June 9.

Midfield: Travis Grant (Pele), Emerick Williams (Alpha), Philbert Moffat (Alpha) Sceyon Hope, (Camptown), Warren Gilkes (GDF), Dwayne Jacobs (Alpha) and Dirk Archer (Pele).

Forwards: Edison Gomes (Alpha), Clive Andries (Buxton United), Peter Parks (GFC), Delroy Deen (BV Triumph United).
