2009 Parbo Bier Cup

Jaguars to play for salvation today against the French

Guyana’s Golden Jaguars will play for pride today in their final game of this year’s Parbo Bier Cup in Suriname.

The Guyanese, who have lost all of their matches so far, will oppose French Guiana at Andre Kampervene Stadium.

French Guiana defeated Suriname 2-1 on the opening day while the locals lost 1-5 to Suriname.

The men from the colony of France are yet to be beaten having put aside Antigua 2-1 as well.

Richie Richards will replace injured and first choice goal keeper Ronson Williams.

Richards was between the uprights when Suriname trashed the side 5-1.

Guyana are on a come back trail in world football after a miserable 2008 season.

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has made several changes to the team but so far the youthful Jaguars unit is having a rocky start to their rebuilding process.

Today’s game will start at 5pm local time.
