GWKA holds successful grading exercise

Twenty-eight students were successful in the Kyu and Shodan martial arts form last weekend when the Guyana Wado-Ryu Karate Association (GWKA) conducted a grading exercise at the Banks DIH dojo under the guidance of Fifth Dan Sensei Winston Dunbar.

According to a release from the GWKA, their mission is to expand the existing four dojos and to reach out to a wide cross section of Guyana. The GWKA’s other dojos are located at Mae’s School in Subryanville, Eccles Primary School and Dragline Street, Tuschen.

The benefits of karate training, the association noted, is to allow persons to realize their self defence ability and to increase discipline, flexibility and overall health.
