Western Union First Division…

Riddim Squad and Huston Stars reign supreme

Riddim Squad and Houston Stars each piled a victory onto their stats as the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) Western Union First Division Football League continued at the Camptown Ground on Sunday.

A Sheldon Hope hat-trick helped contribute to the demolition of Thomas United who succumbed to Riddim Squad 0-7.

In the other match, Houston Stars defeated Kitty Northern Rangers by the odd goal in one.
Rashleigh Ramsay found his rhythm from the first whistle and drew first blood for Riddim Squad in the second minute before the introduction of Hope who helped his team double the lead after his eighth minute goal.

Kevin Roberts scored in the 23rd minute for Riddim Squad who firmly established a comfortable lead going into half time.

When played resumed, Sherwin Hope’s 52nd minute goal paved the way for Sheldon Hope  and Roberts to complete their doubles which they did in the 58th and 59th respectively while Sheldon Hope wrapped up his hat-trick in the 60th minute.

Thomas was then forced to finish the encounter with 10 players as Lyndon Bacchus’ offence in the 70th minute earned him a red card. Meanwhile, Rangers and Huston Stars ramped to a goalless first half before the success of Joel Garnett in the 47th minute gave Houston Stars the go-ahead goal which they defended to the end for the victory.
