-Wolves United crowned BFA under-15 champs
Kevin Josiah’s header in the 74th minute propelled Rising Stars past Beacons in the finals of the Digicel-sponsored Bartica Football Association (BFA) three-day extravaganza at the Bartica Community Centre ground over the weekend.

Rising Stars who defeated Potaro FC to advance to the finals earned $80,000 and other incentives while their goal keeper, Kenzo Bask picked up the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Beacons made their way to the finals thanks to a Whitney Welcome hat-trick in the semi-finals against the Wolves but they had to settle for the second place trophy and $20,000.

Prior to the final between Beacons and Rising Stars, the BFA held their under-15 finals between Wolves United and River’s View which was sponsored by Rico Persaud. Wolves United won one nil.

In addition, there was a women’s exhibition match in which Striking Dolls defeated Water Lilies two goals to one.
