At two simple ceremonies held yesterday, Ansa McAl Limited and Scotia Bank handed over generous amounts of money to Solomon who they all lauded for his continued drive to return the sport to its former glory.

Ansa McAl is on board under their Mackeson Stout brand and according to the company’s Marketing Director Troy Cadogan, it is their belief that boxing is one of the sports which can bring a lot of recognition to Guyana.

He added that he was sure that scores of fans would turn up at the venue on Saturday night to see Lennox ‘Too Sharp’ Allen and Leon ‘Lion’ Gilkes go toe to toe for the vacant national super middleweight title.

This is not the first time that the company is associating  itself with Solomon and the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC) since they also supported the last card in April.

Meanwhile, Scotia Bank’s Production and Marketing Manager, Jennifer Cipriani-Nelson, said that they were  more than pleased to be associated with S and S Promotions and to assist with sponsoring the card which she feels well be very entertaining.

The zealous boxing fan also said that they have worked with Solomon before and they were encouraged by his efforts to revive professional boxing in Guyana.

President of the GBBC Peter Abdool lauded both entities  for their support to boxing and asked that they remain committed to supporting boxing which will only do well for the growth of the sport.
