Rawle Greene completed a sprint double at the Police Progressive Youth Club’s (PPYC) Christopher Hall Classic when he dominated the field in the Open Male sprint events at the Police Sports Club Ground, yesterday.

Greene slammed his fellow competitors in the male 100m after not having such a terrific start. But he was soon in control of the race after 60m while he got away from the pack early in the 200m and powered through the finish line.

National junior sprinting sensation, Treiston Joseph finished second to Greene and Okeme Stuart, third in the 200m. Guest athlete Christopher Hall did not have a good race as he struggled to get out of the pack coming into the back stretch.

Wayne Harlequin claimed two easy wins in the male open 400m and 800m, Leota Bobb won the female open 100m, Nadine Rodrigues the female 200m and Shauna Thornhill the female 400m.

Leanna Doris was victorious in the open female 800m and 1500m while Cleveland Thomas won the 1500m open male in a close battle against Kevin Bailey who claimed second.

In the under-18 category, Chavez Ajeday and Deja Smart won the male and female 100m, Ianna Graham and Andre Josiah won the 200m female and male respectively while Shamain Daniels claimed first in the female 400m.

The action heated up again with a few unpredictable match ups, Sham Johnny defeated the field in the coaches and officials 40m match up while Telston McKinnon won the inactive athletes male 60m.
