Scorching card set for July 19

The Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club (NSMTC) will host an eight event, one-day horse race meet organized by Campton Sancho on July 19 at  Bel Air, No.6 Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB).

Over  four million dollars in cash and prizes are at stake among the eight classes which include C & Lower, F & Lower, three-year-olds Open,  Guyana and  West Indian bred, G&H and Lower, two-year-olds Open, Unclassified Division 1 and 2, I and Lower and Unclassified Division.

Interested participants must  register on or before July 12 at the club’s office. According to the rules of the competition owners must allow their horses to be examined by the vet no later than 11:30am on race day.

Owners and trainers can have their horses entered by contacting Ghansham Singh on telephone number 649-3636 or Lionel Moonsammy on 614-5812.

The day’s feature event will be the C & Lower Class 1600m where the first place finisher will cart off $350,000.
The runner-up will receive  $175,000, third place finisher $87,000 and fourth placed finisher  $44,000.
The three-year-olds Open – Guyana and West Indian bred 1600m, and two-year-olds Open 1000m races has top prizes of $200,000, $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 respectively for the top four finishers.

There will also be the F and Lower 1200m with a $150,000 top prize, $75,000 second prize, $37,000 third prize and $19,000 fourth prize while in the G and H and Lower the battle will see the top four receiving cash incentives of $130,000, $65,000, $32,000 and $19,000 respectively.

The top prizes for the Unclassified Division 1 and 2, I and Lower and Unclassified Division three  are $95,000, $110,000 and $85,000 respectively.
