The Bartica Federation will stage a Bartica Football Competition today and tomorrow at the Bartica Community Centre.
The game kicks off at approximately 1pm at the community centre where teams from seven districts will come together to vie for the championship title.

Home team Bartica will be represented by six teams: Kow Skin, Blood Sports, Mazaruni Prison, Machine, Taliban and All Stars. The district of Georgetown has registered five teams: Strikers, Taurus, FIB, RR and Turning Point.

East Bank, West Bank, Essequibo, Linden and Berbice make up the five other districts expected to take part over the course of two days.

Teams from sixth place to first will be rewarded accordingly. The team in first place will take home $300,000; second place will be rewarded with a total of $175,000, and third place $100,000, while fourth, fifth and sixth place will receive  $60,000, $40,000 and $30,000 respectively.

Organiser of the event Cedric Fortune confirmed that a total of 18 teams are participating. It is difficult to determine who will win the competition because many of the teams play well but he encouraged persons to come out and support the young players.
