The overseas-based Guyanese trio of Lee Prowell, Adam Harris and Jeremy Bascom swept the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) East Regional Men’s 100m when they competed for the  El Dorado, Brooklyn team.

Prowell claimed gold running a time of 10.34s in 2.5mps winds while Harris finished second with 10.39s and Bascom claimed a comfortable third with a time of 10.55s.

The trio finished ahead of Zenith Velocity’s Cyrus Wesley and Leon Thompson who ran 10.84s and 11.11s and the unattached Steven Benedict and Boston – North’s Eddie Bynum who ran 11.22 and 11.24 seconds respectively.

In the preliminary round, Harris recorded the fastest time of the 17 competitors with 10.50s, Bascom second with 10.67 and Prowell third – 10.70s.

The Guyanese then teamed up to dominate the Men’s 4×100m Relay in a time of 41.01s. Their team was completed by El Dorado, East Orange’s Kwesi Sarabo who qualified for the 100m running a time of 11.03s but unfortunately did not compete in the final.

The Zenith Velocity A team was second to the El Dorado A team with a time of 43.13s and ConnQuest A finished a distant third with 55.33s.
