Tomorrow evening, Sun-burst Campton will  be opposed by Mahaica Determinators at 6pm while Alpha ‘The Hammer’ United will clash with Pele in the feature match commencing at 8pm at the Georgetown Football Club Ground.

Buxton Stars were the first of the two East Coast teams to be eliminated when they suffered a 2 – 3 loss to Western Tigers in the opening match up of the double header while BV lost 0 – 2 to Conquerors in the feature encounter.

The well composed Conquerors team stuck two first half goals against their opponents who seemed to be a bit shaking in the first half.

A Jomo Williams double scored in the 15th and 35th minutes gave Conquerors a comfortable lead which they defended to the end.

Conquerors’ striker, Manessah Primo, will be missing the next match because he was ejected from the game by referee Steve James in the 39th minute when he received his second yellow card.

The opening match saw the East Coast team taking a while before getting into their stride as the opposition took full advantage of their situation and scored two quick goals with half time drawing near.

Kevin Gordon was the first to score in the 38th minute and was soon joined on the list of scorers by Devon Millington who struck at the brink of half time.

At the resumption of the second half, Buxton began finding their touches and received two opportunities and equalized.

Quesi Williams in the 49th and guest player Leon Yaw in the 63rd accounted for the two goals that leveled the battle.

However, Tigers’ Royon Thomas found himself in the right lane and shocked the opposition one minute before regulation time to push his team into the next round.
