The Guyana girl’s team of Michelle John, Trenace Lowe and Natalie Cummings earned a silver medal at the 51st annual Caribbean table tennis championships while the men’s team suffered a shock defeat to Aruba as the championships continued yesterday in French Guiana.

According to national coach Linden Johnson the Guyana female team was beaten by Trinidad in the final.

Johnson also said that the Guyana men’s team surprisingly went under to Aruba yesterday.
According to general secretary Godfrey Munroe, the men’s team had beaten favourites Barbados 3-2 on the opening day with Idi Lewis, Chris Franklyn and Paul David all picking up wins.
