Zaheeda Samdally to skipper national female team

Zaheeda Samdally has been named skipper of the national female team. The team was announced following yesterday’s Inter-County game between Essequibo and Demerara at the Police Sports Club ground.

Demerara, batting first were dismissed for 262 to which Essequibo replied with 83 all out.

Davanie Sewnarine and Shamaine Campbell were adjudged the best bowler and best batsman respectively.

The team reads:June Ogle Thomas, Davanie Sewnarine, Katana Mentore, Shamaine Campbell, Tremayne Smartt, Prudence Willams, Tracy Miller, Zaheeda Samdally, Jo-ann Vansertina, Kumarie Persaud, Althea Newark, Olivia Oselmo, Erva Giddings, Sabrina Munroe, Darlene Gale, Abeena Parker, Nikita Toney, Latoya Smith, Wazeeda Bacchus and Tracy Glasgow.
