The final Demerara Distillers Limited-sponsored chess tournament for the year will be played this week-end.
According to a release from the Guyana Chess federation (GCF) the `Emancipation Chess Tournament will be played on August 1-2 at the Keishar’s Sport Club on Hadfield Street.

The Swiss-system tournament will be played over eight rounds.
Each player will have 75 minutes on the clock per game.
Registration starts at 9:30 am, while play will commence at 10 am.
Players are reminded to walk with their chess board and clocks.
The tournament will be played in the junior and senior categories.
