EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey, CMC – An Andre Toussaint brace sensationally fired Trinidadian Pro League side W Connection to a 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls on Wednesday night and into the next round of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Playing in the second leg of the tie at Giants Stadium, the 27-year old scored twice in the space of six minutes before half-time to overturn the Red Bull’s 19th minute lead.

The result gave W Connection a 4-3 win on aggregate after the two teams played to a 2-2 draw at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella last week.

W Connection will now join Pumas UNAM of Mexico, CSD Comunicaciones of Guatemala and the winner of the series between Costa Rica’s Liberia Mia and Real CD Espana of Honduras in Group D.

The Trinidadian side’s chances of progressing took an early blow when John Wolyniec put the Red Bulls ahead after 19 minutes.

Wolyniec, who started in place of the injured former Aston Volla striker Juan Pablo Angel, beat goalkeeper Marvin Phillip with a left-footed shot after being set up by a pass from Jorge Rojas.
