Camptown, Conquerors and Renaissance record wins

Fruta Conquerors, Renaissance and Sunburst Camptown were the three teams in winners’ row when the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Courts Pee Wee Under-11 Football Competition resumed at the Camptown Ground, yesterday.

Renaissance got past Santos FC 1 – 0, Riddim Squad went down to Fruta Conquerors 3 – 1, Sunburst Camptown sunk Pele 3 – 0 while Uprising and Thomas United played to a 1 – 1 draw. The homesters, Camptown, were led to victory by their captain Jaleel Ferreira who recorded a double while being supported by Sherwin Arthur who was successful on his birthday. Arthur drew first blood for Camptown in the first minute while Ferreira pierced the uprights in the 19th minute to lead 2 – 0 at the end of the first half. Ferreira then scored in the 28th minute to complete his double. Goals from Jermaine Garrett, Ryan and Simon Hackett in the 10th, 12th and 15th minutes respectively, propelled the Fruta Conquerors team to victory over Riddim Squad who got a consolation goal in the 35th minute from Kester Joseph. Jermaine Beckles’ second half goal (36th) was all Renaissance needed to defeat the Santos team that was not able to score throughout the entire 40 minutes. Uprising and Thomas United battled to a 1 – 1 draw where Paul Solomon scored in the 15th minute for Thomas and Travis Lyken equalized in the 31st minute.
