K&S/Roraima Bikers Club Cycle meet…

McKay, Greaves and Reece to headline star-studded cast

Some of the country’s top cyclists in the senior, junior, BMX and veteran categories are expected to converge at the Amelia’s Ward Circuit in Linden today for the Roraima Bikers Club (RBC) in collaboration with the Kashif and Shanghai organization 11-race cycle meet.

President of the RBC, Brian Allen, said yesterday that all systems were in place for the day’s event while Kashif Muhammad assured that logistically they are also ready.

Allen said that as of yesterday some of the big names in the sport including the sensational Alonzo Greaves and Warren ‘40’ McKay will be present.

It was also noted that Anguilla-based Guyanese cyclist Andrew ‘Sleepy’ Reece arrived in the country yesterday along with Sherwin Osborne.

Muhammad said that through the assistance of Caribbean Airlines, they were able to bring the cyclist in to ensure that Lindeners are treated to a day of highly competitive racing.

Reece will lead a string of cyclists from Linden against those from the city in a Linden versus Georgetown race while it will be a do-or-die battle in the feature open event.

Eleven races were previously announced for the day but the organisers said that this could change due to the overwhelming support shown so far.
