Riddim Squad and the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) were the two latest victors in the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Trix Under-17 Football Competition which was played at the GFC and Tucville grounds on Monday.

GFC whipped Alpha United 4 – 1 at GFC while Riddim Squad recorded their first victory in a dominant fashion as they battered Flamingo 8 – 0 at Tucville.

GFC took the early lead on their home ground with Devon Baptiste scoring in the 11th minute and Rowley Lewis recording the first goal of his double in the 23rd minute. Devon Lewis then made it a 3 – 0 game when he scored on the stroke of half time. Alpha United made it a two possession game when Fabio DaSilva scored in the first minute of the second half (46th) but it was again a three-goal lead in the 69th minute when Lewis completed his double.

Over at the Tucville ground, Ridim Squad was powered to victory by hat-tricks scored by Amis Ramsey and Terrence Gittens.

Ramsey scored for his team in the 13th, 52nd and 63rd minutes and Gittens scored in the 29th, 46th and 68th minutes while Darren Peters supported with a double (20th and 49th).

On Saturday, GFC defeated Fruta Conquerors, Renaissance blew away Black Pearl and Pele steamrolled Flamingo with a record 14 – 0 margin. Last year’s competition had Sunburst Camptown scoring the most goals in a match, 15 – 0, against Thomas United at the University of Guyana football field where Telston McKinnon scored ten goals.
