DeSinco Trading on board with ‘Caribbean Fury’

DeSinco Trading limited yesterday announced its affiliation with the September 26 World Championship boxing card set for the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall dubbed the ‘Caribbean Fury’, when they handed over $50,000 to the promoters and the Guyana Boxing Board of Control (GBBC).

Making the presentation was the company’s Human Resources Manager Nathely Mars.
“We at DeSinco Trading have proven our corporate responsibility towards youth and development nationwide through our active and influential roles in several sporting activities. Over the years we have been actively involved in boxing, cricket, football, cycling, table tennis, track and field and golf among other sports”, Mars noted.

President of the GBBC, Peter Abdool noted that while this would be the company’s first support of professional boxing financially, they must be lauded for their support to amateur boxing over the years which has in turn boosted Guyana’s pool of professional fighters.

The Caribbean Fury will see Guyana’s Leon ‘Hurry-up’ Moore going after the North American Boxing Association (NABA) bantamweight title when he faces Colombian Mauricio Pastrana while ‘The Mystery Lady’ Shondel Alfred goes toe to toe with Corrine ‘Sexy Panther’ De Groot for the vacant Women’s International Boxing Association (WIBA) Bantamweight belt.
